The 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE is built around a thoughtful and thorough approach to safety, covering driver assistance, visibility, and stability control. Here at Mercedes-Benz of Silver Spring, we hear questions about these systems as often as engine specs or cargo room. Here are some of the features keeping you and your passengers protected.
A Smarter Set of Eyes on the Road
Mercedes-Benz calls its redesigned driver assistance suite MB.DRIVE®, and it relies on exterior cameras and radar sensors to track traffic, lane position, and following distance. Every 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE comes standard with MB.DRIVE PARKING ASSIST®, while the more capable MB.DRIVE ASSIST® and MB.DRIVE ASSIST PRO® are also available, giving you a heightened sense of awareness on the road.
Seeing What's Ahead, and What's Underneath
You can’t avoid what you cannot see, which is why lighting is as important to safety as this SUV’s driver-assist systems. The available DIGITAL LIGHT® headlamps use micro-LED technology with a partial high-beam function that dims around other vehicles while keeping the rest of the road lit. The available Transparent Hood™ pairs with a 360-degree camera to reveal what is happening directly beneath the front bumper, an area a driver normally cannot see, which matters most in tight parking lots, near curbs, or during mild off-roading when you can’t always spot obstacles in your path.
Stability, On Pavement and Off
Of course, none of this would be nearly as effective without good traction. That’s why every 2027 Mercedes-Benz GLE rides on standard 4MATIC® all-wheel drive, distributing power to the wheels with the most grip in rain, snow, or loose gravel. For towing, the standard ESP® trailer stabilization system is designed to recognize trailer sway and help bring it back under control.
