We want our customers to be as informed as possible when it comes to taking care of their cars. This is why we put together this FAQ all about Mercedes-Benz tires.
How Can I Best Maintain My Tires?
Perhaps the best way to keep your tires in good shape is with regular rotations. For one thing, this enables them to wear down more evenly, which boosts their performance. This will also help them have a long lifespan. Keeping your tires at the proper inflation levels and coming in for routine wheel alignment are also important for tire safety, performance, and longevity.
How Long Do Tires Last?
This depends on whether you maintain them on a regular basis. If you do, a new set should be able to last you about 50,000 miles or so.
What Does the Tire Pressure Light on My Dashboard Mean?
If this pops up (the icon kind of looks like an exclamation mark in a horseshoe), this means that one or more of your tires is underinflated. Having this checked quickly is important because you will only get this warning if the tire’s pressure has dropped to 75 percent or below the recommended psi.
When Should I Replace My Tires?
Even if you haven’t reached 50,000 miles, the recommendation is that tires should be replaced every five to six years. There are some warning signs, however, that you’ll want to pay attention to that will tell you a replacement is in order. Shallow treads or bald spots on your tires are a big red flag. Uneven wear, cracking, or bubbles are also things you don’t want to ignore.
Do I Need Different Tires for Different Seasons?
Most people drive around with all-season tires, and for the most part, these are perfectly fine all year long. Some drivers like to put summer tires on for hot weather, as they are meant for higher temperatures. Putting snow tires on for the winter may also be a smart idea, as they are designed to offer better traction.
